Increase your efficency in SimaPro with Excel

Miljögiraffs new course Scaling LCA with SimaPro teaches you how to build structured, scalable, and flexible LCA models in SimaPro by importing data efficiently and organizing complex systems in a maintainable way. A key focus is using the excel macro CSVmaker (included in the course) to create hierarchies (e.g., assemblies and sub-assemblies), which makes large models easier to understand, update, and expand over time.

LCA Scalability

The course also shows how to improve scenario handling and scalability by using parameters when importing data, allowing you to reuse the same model structure for multiple variants (such as different materials, suppliers, energy mixes, or product configurations) without rebuilding everything. Another central topic is linking model inputs to Excel, enabling real-time updates of values and making the workflow more dynamic. This supports faster iteration, better version control of input assumptions, and easier collaboration when data changes frequently.

The course focus on moving from manual modelling to a repeatable workflow that supports complex BOM imports, modular model design, and fast scenario updates, ideal for professional LCA work where models evolve continuously.
